So ... a short introduction. I'm 41, soon to be 42. I'm African American. And I'm a female.
The reason for that short introduction is simple. I have Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia. This form of cancer is prevalent in Caucasian, Older, Males. Which - I'm neither.
I was first diagnosed in 2013 and when my then oncologist told me what it was, I researched it and tried to make sense of how this could happen to me. Do I have Caucasian in my background ... I really don't think so, but I can't be too sure now.
I only had to do 6 months of Chemo and I am currently in remission.
But I searched the site and I found no one here with the same cancer I have - let alone a young (fairly young), AA female with it. Is ther anyone out there, or any gender or race dealing with CLL?
I found Hodgkins ... and though it's related ... it's not the same.
