In the DFW Area: FREE Health and Wellness program for anyone ever diagnosed with cancer!

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Cancer is a life-changing disease that takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll on those affected. The Y and LIVESTRONG have joined together to create LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help cancer survivors achieve their holistic health goals.

This FREE program is available to anyone and their caregiver, that has been ever diagnosed with cancer.  The program allows participants to work with Y staff, who are trained in supportive cancer care, to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem.

By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body.

The Amon G Carter Downtown YMCA will be launching its first LIVESTRONG session on Tuesday, September 6. Classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-2:30p.m. in the Amon G Cater Downtown Y Wellness Studio. The secind LIVESTRONG sessions will begin on Monday, September 26, 2016. Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30p.m. in the Downtown Y Training Studio.
