My oncologist informed me that one of the side effects of my chemo could potentially be sterility. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this side effect. I can't really find anything specific to what the risk is.

Not sure if it matters but it's RCHOP Chemo

  • pretty much any treatment has this as a potential side effect.

I was informed of this after I was given chemo to save my life. I wasn't in any sort of condition to handle preparations for this, so it is what it is. I was told not to bother getting tested until 2yrs after chemo. It's been that now, but I just don't have the time to get tested so I'm still not sure if I wound up with that particular side effect or not.

I think there's a good chance of it, though. I've noticed plenty of changes ranging from premature ejaculation to decreased volume and such. Would totally not be surprised if I was sterile. If you have the opportunity to bank sperm, take it. It can be there for insurance purposes in case you ever need it.
