Advocacy & Research
Since our founding in 2007, Stupid Cancer has been a leader in building the AYA Cancer movement and driving systemic change. To push this work forward, we collaborate closely with industry leaders to close gaps for marginalized AYAs, equip healthcare professionals to better serve AYA patients, and address real-world barriers to treatment.
Take a closer look at some of our Advocacy Initiatives:
Advancing AYA Research
To improve outcomes and care for AYAs, we need critical research data to inform us. Check out opportunities to participate in research studies and learn about results from these projects.
Health Equity Initiative
AYAs are an underserved patient population overall, but the inequities do not stop at age discrimination. In addition to advocating for age-appropriate care, Stupid Cancer works to support marginalized AYAs in the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and Disabled communities as they navigate medical care.
Access to Care Project
AYAs are often dissatisfied with their medical care. Stupid Cancer launched the Access to Care project to better understand these gaps and to support healthcare providers in providing better care for their AYA patients.
2024 State of Survivorship Survey
In 2024, we partnered with Cancer Nation (formerly NCCS) to gather insights on the survivorship experiences of younger patients. Check out the report to dig into this important data.
